Citypoint – Premium Vertical Bike Racks, Equilibrium Stands & Folding Bike Lockers

Citypoint, the City of London

Built in 1967, Citypoint is a 36-storey building in the City of London that has served various roles throughout its history, including as the headquarters of British Petroleum.

The first building in London to surpass the height of St. Paul’s Cathedral, this once ground-breaking skyscraper holds iconic status amongst the city’s skyline.

Following extensive reconstruction work in the early 2000s, Citypoint is now a holistic space that boasts a 7,000 sq. ft terrace, a 60,000 sq. ft retail area, the city’s largest health club and excellent BREEAM status certification.

With thousands of people occupying the building daily, a recent refitting within the building saw our team called upon to provide them with a selection of high specification bike storage solutions.

Our solution

After consulting with the architect and client team at length, it was determined that we would need to provide 250 cycle spaces for the project utilising a selection of our Premium Vertical & Premium Solo Vertical Bike Racks, Equilibrium Stands, and Folding Bike Lockers.

With a large open-plan interior available to work with, our designers were able to deliver a well-considered setting out arrangement for the racks and lockers, that would suitably complement the modern industrial aesthetic of their space.

A range of cycle pumps and repair stations were also installed throughout the property to facilitate safe cycling for the site’s users, and to ensure a rounded end of journey facility.

We utilised the well-known Ojmar digital lock brand to provide an app-based locking facility for the Folding Bike Lockers, which allowed the system to be fully monitored by the building management team.

This landmark fit-out project is a prime example of our design team’s capacity to work in tandem with project architects to deliver outstanding bike parking solutions for building refurbishments and developments across the country.

Having revisited the site on numerous occasions since handover, we’re delighted to confirm that the new cycle storage areas has been a resounding success.
