Mercer West & Madison East is a landmark 333-unit Build to Rent development in the heart of Leeds’ cultural quarter. With residents just steps from the River Aire, arts venues, and independent retailers, active travel was a core part of the masterplan. The Bike Storage Company was appointed to deliver an efficient, secure, and space-conscious cycle storage system to encourage sustainable living.

The Challenge

• Accommodate secure bike parking for over 300 apartments within a compact city-centre footprint.
• Maintain user accessibility while maximising density and storage efficiency.
• Deliver a robust, low-maintenance, and visually cohesive solution compatible with the development’s design aesthetic.

Our Solution

To meet these goals, we supplied and installed our Gas-Assisted Two-Tier Racks — a tried-and-tested solution for large urban developments seeking both capacity and convenience.

The Gas-Assisted Two-Tier Rack system doubles available storage space through a vertical bi-level design while ensuring effortless operation for users of all ages and abilities.
