Sutton Point – High Security Mesh & Two Tier Racks

With an array of apartments and penthouses, Sutton Point redefines contemporary urban living and is set to play a key role in the future of Sutton’s local economy thanks to its extensive office and retail space.

Specifically designed to be a pedestrian and cyclist friendly area, Sutton Point delivers a vibrant space that encourages a healthy lifestyle for residents and locals alike.

To help integrate resident cycling into the building process, our team was called upon to create a unique bike parking hub for the property.

Our solution

Working on the Sutton Point development was a substantial project, and a bespoke solution was needed to rise to the challenge.

To meet the high volume of people that will be living at the property and to meet local planning requirements, in excess of 500 of our Two Tier Racks were specified for the build.

With limitations on the space available to create this cycle hub, our Two Tier Rack was specifically chosen to deliver the high-density storage necessary, whilst ensuring that low-maintenance would be necessary in the longer term.

Full height High Security Mesh Partitioning was utilised throughout the basement to create a secure perimeter around each cycle store, this product being the natural choice that met both Secured by Design standards and the contractors budget constraints.

Each individual cage was fitted with fob access control entry systems, eliminating any of the administrative hassles of managing resident’s keys, or distributing regular codes.

As governments and local authorities continue to implement regulations targeted at reducing the use of cars in urban centres, it is vital that such schemes have the appropriate infrastructure to promote the uses of such bicycle storage areas. This means making the areas both attractive and demonstrating to the users that they have a truly secure storage area for their bikes.

By delivering upon this extensive project, we have played an important role in contributing towards future proofing the cycling drive of Sutton Point and the local area as a whole.
