Gas Assisted Two Tier Racks – St James Dover

A £53 million development in the centre of Dover, St James’s Park is a retail hub that brings leisure, entertainment, dining, and shopping to the heart of the town.

The site’s central location makes it a great spot for people to cycle to, and our team were therefore recruited to install a pair of high-end bike and bin stores in keeping with the state-of-the-art shopping centre.

Our solution

After consulting with the contractor and architect to ascertain their requirements for the project, the team elected to install two of our Premium Chelsea Two Tier Cycle Shelters paired with two bespoke Thurrock Bin Stores.

Alongside providing the level of elegant aesthetics necessary for a high-end shopping centre, the Premium Two-Tier Chelsea Cycle Shelter was selected for its capacity to deliver the high-density storage necessary for the site’s limited space.

The two shelters were each equipped with 36 Gas Assisted Two Tier Cycle Racks, with their intuitive design enabling cyclists to safely lock both the frame and wheels to the rack for complete peach of mind, coupled with our pneumatically assisted upper level for ease and safety of use.

Two bespoke bin stores with horizontally laid FSC timber cladding were used for screening industrial waste bins, painted to a light grey RAL colour to blend into the surrounding buildings.

Following the installation, we were delighted to receive reports from the developers of a dramatic uptake in the number of people cycling to and from the location.
