30 Fenchurch Street – Internal Bike Store

30 Fenchurch Street sits on a site that was once integral to the City of London’s commodities sector, having been the centre of the world’s tea trade before housing the London Metal Exchange until 1994.

The current building was opened in 2004 and is one of the capital’s largest office developments, serving as the headquarters of some of the country’s largest banks, insurance companies, and consultancies.

To enable cycling opportunities to this bustling building, our team was hired to deliver a brand-new internal bike store to replace a pre-existing facility that lacked the capacity to meet the growing demand for cycle spaces.

Our solution

Following an initial no obligation site survey, our design team worked alongside the client and their planners to create a bespoke 193 space internal bike store within the car parking area.

138 cycle spaces were created courtesy of our Two Tier Racks, a product specifically selected thanks to its ability to deliver the high-density storage necessary to meet the required number of spaces within the store’s limited footprint.

Additionally, the team installed 20 Vertical Bike Racks, 18 Free Standing Vertical Bike Racks, and 2 Sheffield Stands, all hand selected to optimise the remaining space.

33 Folding Bike Lockers, powder-coated to a Zinc Yellow RAL, were also installed at the site, alongside a Public Bike Maintenance Stand to facilitate safe cycling.

Finally, our team erected a Twin Wire Security Mesh Partitioning perimeter with two access controlled single leaf mesh swing gates to add a further layer of security to the site.

All these products are made from galvanised British steel and have a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty and 15-year rust guarantee, providing a long-term solution for the client.
